A client wanted to know if Facebook advertising would be worthwhile. I didn’t have any experience with it so I wanted to educate myself on it so I could give them my advice. Although many of the things I read said that buying ads through Facebook helped increase Likes, I didn’t find a lot of evidence that it lead to increased engagement, much less, increased conversion.
Then I came across this video and it became painfully obvious why Likes mean nothing in terms of conversion. I’d rather have 40 Likes that are from genuine followers than 4,000 likes from a Facebook ad. It appears that you will get the same results with buying Facebook likes that you know are from click farms. So in short, a waste of money either way.
Watch and learn. Thanks to Veritasium for their time spent testing this.
Needless to say, I told my client he should keep his money and let’s work on getting him some better content that will engage real visitors that are interested in what he has to offer. It takes more time, but in the end, it is a much better way to go.Share
